PREMIER LEAGUE

Little Stoke leapfrogged Barlaston at the top of the Waterworld Premier Divsion. They managed to see off Burslem to record an 18-run win.
Burslem’s Samiullah Khan claimed 5-55 but a gritty 43 from skipper Gareth Morris ensured his side posted 133-9.
In reply, early wickets from Shabir Ahmed (3-43) and Daniel Colclough (4-42) dented Burslem’s chances. Usman Siddique (25 not out) nearly changed the game in Burslem’s favour but they succumbed to 115 all out.

Muhammad Khan’s unbeaten 81 helped Barlaston knock off Longton’s total of 155, to keep them in the title hunt.
Earlier, Longton recovered from 90-8 to 155 thanks to an unbeaten 42 from Tom Fenn with the wickets shared around as Longton were dismissed in the last over.
In Barlaston’s reply, Khan received welcome support from professional Niroshan Bandaratilleke (52) to ease to a seven-wicket win.

Hem Heath recorded their second win of the season against Audley as they look to pull themselves out of relegation worries.
Audley’s Sean Price hit an unbeaten 80 as they struggled to 159-9 thanks to Daniel Milligan’s marathon 28-over spell claiming 6-80. Milligan was well supported by Muhammad Jahangir (2-31).
And Qasier Abbas finished off the job with an unbeaten 93 alongside an assured 23 from youngster Matthew Bailey, to record the five-wicket win.

An unbeaten 93 from Stone’s Shaun Jenkinson helped Stone to victory over Knypersley.
Knypersley had posted 177-9 thanks to Chris Barry (56) and Daniel Ball (24) as the wickets were shared around.
But Jenkinson’s knock alongside Phil Cheadle’s 52 ensured the seven-wicket win in the 52nd over.

Moddershall held on for a losing draw against Wood Lane.
Wood Lane were dismissed for 227 with Anwar Ali taking superb returns of 7-69 as Wood Lane lost their last seven wickets for only 30 runs.
Ryan Hassett (79) and Richard Hassall (87) were the only two Wood Lane batsmen to provide much resistance.
But Moddershall’s run chase was halted after the loss of early wickets as Mustafa Bashir (5-63) tore through the middle order.
Wood Lane failed to take the last two wickets leaving Moddershall on 154-8 taking a share of the points.

Elworth finished agonisingly close to their first league win of the season against Porthill Park.
Porthill batted first posted 231-9 with Elworth professional Yasir Ali taking 6-57. Simon Cork (83) top scored for Porthill Park.
In reply, Elworth’s Peter Barnett hit 100 as his side ended up eight runs short on 223 all out with youngster Sohail Zaroof (5-38) and Saeed Anwar (3-54) doing the damage.

DIVISION ONE

Leek continue to dominate in the JSW Insurance Division One and have moved 28 points clear at the top after their win against Whitmore.
Leek bowled Whitmore out for 136 thansk to Greg Willott (4-25) and three wickets apiece from Mohammad Hussain (3-74) and Colin Dearden (3-29).
An unbeaten 49 from Grant Denny then helped polish off the five-wicket win after 36 overs.

Oulton recorded a four-wicket win over Betley.
Richard Bebbington hit 96 in Betley’s 221-6 with Rob Spruce the pick of the bowlers taking 3-60.
And scores from Harish Patel (60), Henry Wright (41) and Spruce (37 not out) made sure of the win in the 44th over.

A superb run chase helped Blythe to a win over an in-form Sandyford side.
Sandyford hit 246-8 with professional Sohail Rauf hitting 101 alongside Darren Long’s 73. Peter Finch (4-62) was the pick of the Blythe attack.
But all of Blythe top six batsmen contributed, in particular, Haydon Simcock (59) and Imranullah Aslam (64 not out) to knock of the runs with two overs spare.

Cheadle completed a four-wicket win over Rode Park & Lawton.
Jonathan Gallimore top scored with 47 in Rode Park’s total of 217, with Cheadle’s Chris Barker taking 4-49.
But a third-wicket partnership of 120 between David Wheeldon (64) and Matthew Coxon (63) set the platform for the win in the 61st over.

Norton’s Ian Reynolds claimed 5-12 to tear through Leycett as his side win by seven wickets.
Reynolds reduced Leycett from 108-4 to 120 all out after Daniel Redfern had hit a quickfire 48.
Adam Garbar (32 not out) and Josh Graham (29) helped to knock of the runs after 38 overs.

Meir Heath couldn’t take the final Stafford wicket as they had to settle for a winning draw.
Meir Heath scored 214-7 with Richard Stonier top scoring on 69, with other good knocks from Billy Locker (48) and Iftikhar Asghar (43).
Stafford’s Joe Askey hit an assured 55 until Asghar took 5-37 off 23 overs to give Meir Heath a sniff of a win, but the last Stafford pair clung on.

DIVISION TWO

Weston claimed a winning draw against leaders Checkley to move second in the ASC Financial Management Division Two.
Batting first Weston hit 242-8 thanks to Raj Kumar (61), Joe Gates (53) and Michael Alexander (45) with the wickets shared around.
After the loss of early wickets Checkley pair Jason Brown (26 not out) and Andy Carr (25 not out) made sure wickets stayed in tact to finish on 172-6.

Caverswall put in a good performance against Alsager to claim a winning draw.
After hitting 220-7 with Caverswall’s Owen Price top scoring on 55 they reduced Alsager to 195-9.
Alsager’s Paul Newnes (5-79) helped to restrict the Caverswall batsmen and in reply Andy Watkins hit 72 but couldnt steer his side to victory.

Silverdale cruised to an eight-wicket win over Crewe.
Mitchell Stokes (5-40) and Glynn Moore (3-40) helped to bowl Crewe out for 105. And in reply, 46 from Zoltan Toth and Matt Baker’s 37 helped Silverdale to victory in the 35th over.

Eight wickets from Ashcombe Park’s Mohammad Junaid Khan helped them to a comfortable win over Kidsgrove.
Khan (8-19) helped to bowl Kidsgrove out for 53 in the 22nd over.
Earlier, Ashcombe Park hit 247-8 thanks to half centuries from David Proffitt (56) and James Proffitt (52).

Meakins also cruised to victory over Moddershall ‘A’.
After posting 22-9 mainly due to Matthew Redican unbeaten 98 they then bowled Meakins out for 52.
Three wicket apiece from Daniel Cashmore (3-18) and Ranil Dhammika (3-6) made sure of the win after 17 overs.

A superb run chase from Wedgwood & Stanfields helped them to a win over Newcastle & Hartshill.
Newcastle & Hartshill declared on 243-7 with half centuries from Simon Wood (50) and James Collett (57).
But Wedgwood’s batsmen used those extra three overs to knock the total off thans to Gareth Lello (57 not out), Jonathan Tweats (54) and Jamie Cullerton (48) to complete the four-wicket win.

DIVISION THREE

Bagnall remain unbeaten in this year’s Little Gym Division Three after a comfortable seven-wicket win over Woore.
Kashif Daud (6-25) and Alex Ravenscroft (4-49) helped to bowl Woore out for 102, having recovered from 57-8.
And Bagnall finished off the game thanks to Robert Ward’s 28 and Simon Gordon (25) in the 27th over.

Endon recorded their second win of the campaign at the hands of Oakamoor.
Oakamoor batted first and hit 182 thanks to Tom Sherratt (53) and Phil Tomczak (42). But Endon’s Kevin Cockerton took 5-83 to restrict the Oakamoor batsmen.
And Cockerton completed the all-round performance with a match-winning unbeaten 82 alongside Neil Gilbert’s 42 to complete the four-wicket win.

Meir Heath/Fenton cruised to victory over Porthill Park ‘A’.
Chris Mellor (6-31) and two wickets apiece from Chris Jenkins (2-20) and Troy Taylor (2-19) helped to bowl Porthill out for 72.
And Phil Hall (28 not out) and Mellor (22 not out) polished off the win in the 17th over.

A superb bat and ball performance from Eccleshall’s Richie Gallichan helped them to victory over Hanford.
Australian Gallichan hit 95 in Eccleshall’s total of 217, and then took 5-21 as they tore through Hanford’s line-up to dimiss them for 84.

Stone SP’s Nicholas Cooper hit an unbeaten 80 to steer his side to a win over Hem Heath/Forsbrook.
Hem Heath/Forsbrook posted 190 thanks to Ian Moston (35) and 47 from 15-year-old Ben Warrender.
But Cooper and David Pashley (62) batted positively as they reached the total after 36 overs.

Bignall End also completed a commanding win over Wootton.
Wootton were dismissed for 142 with both Simon Little and Mark Wright hitting 30. Bignall End’s Kieran Peake (4-39) was the pick of the bowlers.
And an unbeaten 61 from Kim Barnett ensured a comfortable eight-wicket win in the 36th over.

PREMIER LEAGUE

Audley completed a comfortable nine-wicket win over table toppers Barlaston.Barlaston batted first making 113 with Mark Stanyer and Ben Grange both scoring 32. Audley bowlers Thomas Oaks (3-37) and Richard Holloway (3-6) doing the damage for Audley.In reply, Audley made a professional job of the chase losing only Holloway for 27 to the bowling of Niroshan Bandaratilleke (1-30). Michael Longmore (46 not out) and Roger Sillence (34 not out) made sure of the win in the 33rd over.

Burslem’s Samuillah Khan took 5-46 to help them dismiss Stone for 170. In reply, Alex Bailey (59 not out) and Michael Brown (50) made sure of the four-wicket win and rescued Burslem from 49-5 to 171-6.

Earlier, Phil Cheadle (52) and Russell Ballard ( 36 not out) set a platform for Stone until Khan ran through the tail.

Ben McGuire steered Knypersley to another win against Elworth. McGuire hit an unbeaten 71 as Knypersely chased down Elworth’s 160 with ease to complete a six-wicket win.

In Elworth’s innings Yasir Ali hit a quickfire 61 and was supported by Alex Edmonstone’s unbeaten 26 as they recovered from 81-6 to 160 all out. Robert James starred with the ball, claiming 5-34.

Moddershall held onto a losing draw against Little Stoke. The latter posted 157-9 with Josh Lowndes top scoring on 41. In reply, the loss of early key wickets saw Moddershall’s thoughts of a run chase out of the window as Scott Oliver (30) proved to be the thorn in Little Stoke’s side in his 118-ball innings, Moddershall ending on 118-9.

Longton’s Pete Wilshaw and Phil Adams shared a second-wicket stand on 201 as they blazed Hem Heath’s bowlers around. Wilshaw (159) and Adams (105) helped Longton to a commanding 334-4. The total was always a stretch and Hem Heath finished on 194-7 with John Cheadle (36), Qasier Abbas (74) and Mick Hall (29) consuming the time in the middle.

In similar fashion, Porthill failed to bowl Wood Lane out to record a win batting first. Saeed Anwar (124) was instrumental in providing the base for Porthill’s score of 260-6. At 59-4 Wood Lane fans could be forgiven to think all was lost but Shane Willis (32) and an unbeaten 63 from Jeff Maynard ensured they held on for the losing draw to end on 175-8.

DIVISION ONE

Leek’s Mohammad Hussain made a century and took six wickets as Leek dominated against Stafford to stay top of the JSW Insurance Division One. Leek hit 278-3 with Alex Mellor (127) and Hussain (107) as the pair shard a stand of 200. In reply, Stafford started brightly with Joe Askey (69) and Omar Ali (76) dealing with some lusty blows. But marathon spells from Hussain (6-64) and Colin Dearden (4-79) ensured the win as Stafford lost the last five wickets for 13 runs.

Meir Heath failed to bowl Blythe out to keep up the pace with Leek. Meir Heath hit 223-9 thanks to Richard Stonier’s 49 and an unbeaten 60 from Iftikhar Asghar. Blythe’s Praneeth Jayasundara (6-63) bowled well in his 22-over spell. In reply, Blythe were looking good at 120-3 but Asghar (4-29) off 22 overs ruined any hopes of a win as Blythe were left saving the game to finish on 179-8.

Cheadle also held on for a losing draw against Leycett. Leycett acquired Lancashire starlet Andrea Agathagelou to play and he showed his class hitting 90 out of Leycett’s total of 224-9. Cheadle came agonisingly close to the win on 211-9 but went to save the game as wickets started to tumble. Andrew Shaw (69), Will Riley (38) and Shaun Rashid (31) the main contributors.

Rode Park & Lawton completed a solid performance against Norton to record a four-wicket win. Norton were dismissed for 182 with Mark Stanfield (3-29) and Adam Taylor (3-38) taking three wickets apiece. And Rode Park’s Alex Perry hit 77 with support from Paul Chadwick (41) as they cruised to a win after 50 overs.

Sandyford rolled Betley for 78 to record a convincing 128-run win. Nottinghamshire’s fast bowler Charlie Shreck took 5-48 to tear through Betley’s top order. Shreck was well supported by Andrew Barnett (3-29) and James Pringle (2-3) to polish off the job in under 30 overs. Earlier, Sohail Rauf hit 35 and had good support from several others as they posted 206-9. Darren Snape claimed returns of 4-45 in a good bowling display for Betley.

Whitmore bowled Oulton out for 114 to record a 57-run win. Whitmore hit 171-9 with Joe Bridgewater (42) top scoring. Oulton’s Rob Spruce 4-51) and Andy Dawson (5-43) helping to restrict the total. But in Oulton’s reply only Harish Patel (36) dug his heels in as they were finally dismissed for 114. Whitmore’s Lee Johnson (4-29) was the pick of the attack.

DIVISION TWO

After last week’s disappointment, Checkley were back to winning ways against Ashcombe Park to remain at the top of the ASC Financial Management Division Two. Nick Hunt (43) and Daniel Amoss (45 not out) helped Checkley post 197-9. Ashcombe Park came agonisingly close to the win finishing six runs short on 192, with Checkley’s Jason Brown claiming excellent figures of 8-61.

Weston’s Raj Kumar hit 140 as they posted 245-7 against Caverswall. In reply, Caverswall’s middle order dug in after the loss of early wickets in the form of Marlon Martin (51) and Robert King (52 not out). But Mike Holt (4-52) polished off the tail as Caverswall were dismissed for 180. Alsager couldn’t get the final two wickets against Meakins as they lost some ground on the top four. Oliver Sadler carried his bat with an unbeaten 113 as Alsager recorded 278-6. In reply, Ranil Dhammika hit 61 with support from Andrew Reed (45). And it was left to Joe Prince (37 not out) to save the game, holding on to finish on 193-8.

Crewe knocked off Newcastle & Hartshill’s 127 to record a five-wicket win. Only James Collett (33) and Simon Wood (29) showed some application at the crease as Crewe’s Sukhpreet Singh claimed 5-30. In reply, Crewe’s opener Yasser Tariq hit an unbeaten 78 to guide his team over the winning line in the 33rd over.

Silverdale won in similar fashion at the hands of Wedgwood & Stanfields. Glynn Moore’s 5-52 helped to dismiss Wedgwood for 123 with Ian Addyman top scoring with an unbeaten 33. Despite the loss of an early wicket, Adam Michelson (27 not out), Mick Moore (40) and Mitchell Stokes (39 not out) reached the total in the 24th over to complete the eight-wicket win.

Kidsgrove moved into third spot after bowling Moddershall ‘A’ out for 132. Colin Wilkinson (4-22) and Mitchell Spencer (3-13) did the damage for Kidsgrove with Moddershall’s Alex Thorley top scoring with 36. Earlier, four of the Kidsgrove batsmen hit scores in the 30s as they hit 217-8 declared.

DIVISION THREE

Bagnall bridged a 14-point gap at the top of the Little Gym Division Three after a crucial win over second-placed Bignall End. Bignall End batted first hitting 272-8 thanks to Andrew Howle’s 101 and scores from Kim Barnett (40) and Ben Massey (60). But Bagnall’s batters refused to back down the chase reaching the total in the 52nd over, with Simon Gordon’s superb 133 and an unbeaten 106 from Kashif Daud in their stand of 235 as Bagnall completed a six-wicket win.

Woore sit in third after chasing down Stone SP’s score of 238-6 to win by five wickets. Asim Zaka’s unbeaten 117 helped Stone SP post a competitive total but Woore’s batsmen had other ideas as Harry Oliver (79) and Piradeban Ponnudurai (67 not out) helped to knock off the total in the 45th over.

Eccleshall had a convincing seven-wicket win over Endon. Endon were dismissed for 142 with three wickets apiece for Robert Hogarth (3-11) and Jack Boulton (3-9). And the total was chased down after 28 overs lead by Tim Ecclestone’s unbeaten 51 off 24 balls.

Oakamoor’s Muhammad Ayub took 5-21 as they bowled Hanford out for 109, chasing 159-9. Hanford’s Mike Coxon (6-57) bowled brilliantly in his marathon 28-over spell. But Oakamoor’s Will Leeson (51) batted sensibly early in their innings with Jonathon Wood (35) to help them to 159-9 which proved too many for Hanford’s batters.

Wootton completed a convincing 134-run win over Porthill Park ‘A’. Wootton hit 249-7 with Simon Barker finishing unbeaten on 93. Early wickets were the key to Wootton’s reply with the ball as James Carr (5-27) and Mark Wright (3-39) reduced Porthill Park ‘A’ to 46-6 and eventually bowling them out for 115 after 38 overs.

Troy Taylor’s stubborn 28 for Meir Heath/ Fenton helped them to a win over Hem Heath/ Forsbrook. Chasing 136 Meir Heath/Fenton looked to be struggling at 99-7 but Steve Bishop (19 not out) and Wasim Khan (11 no out) saw them home. Mark Sanders (4-34) and Ataur Rehman (4-55) doing the damage for Hem Heath/Forsbrook. Earlier, Mark Robinson top scored with the bat on 19 as no one stuck around, extras being the top scorer with 36 as Hem Heath/Forsbrook were all out in the 46th over.
